Welcome
The Yukon offers many hidden wilderness gems and an incredible variety of trails in every community. Whether you are interested in urban walks or multi-day wilderness hikes, you can find every type of experience you are seeking. One of my favourite urban wilderness areas is McIntyre Creek / Chasn Cha. This biodiverse area running through the heart of the Yukon's capital city is home to moose, bears, coyotes, lynx, snowshoe hares and so much more. Historically used by the Ta'an Kwch'n Council and the Kwanlin Dn First Nation, this wildlife corridor also includes important spiritual and cultural connections. I am lucky to enjoy daily runs or hikes in this special area that is, almost literally, my backyard. Magical places like McIntyre Creek are available to you wherever you go in the Yukon. I hope you are able to explore and discover your own favourite hidden gems.
